Sheraton Maui Resort & Spa Appoints Kaleo Kenui as General Manager
Sheraton Maui Resort & Spa has appointed Kaleo Kenui as its new General Manager. Located on Kāʻanapali Beach at Puʻu Kekaʻa (Black Rock), the Sheraton Maui Resort & Spa welcomes a hospitality professional with nearly three decades of experience across resort and hotel operations.
Kenui joins the role after serving as Dual General Manager of Residence Inn and AC Hotel by Marriott Maui Wailea from 2016 to 2026. During his tenure, he led the opening of Hawaiʻi’s first AC Hotel by Marriott in Wailea and oversaw the operations of both properties.
Prior to this, Kenui held senior leadership positions, including Director of Operations at Wailea Beach Resort – Marriott, Maui, and Waikoloa Beach Marriott Resort & Spa. His hospitality career also includes involvement in the openings of Courtyard by Marriott San Diego Oceanside and Courtyard by Marriott Maui Kahului Airport, as well as supporting operational transitions across Marriott’s full-service properties in Hawaiʻi.
Throughout his career, Kenui has received several industry recognitions, including Residence Inn Opening Hotel of the Year in 2016, Marriott Select Brands Western Region General Manager of the Year in 2022, and the Diamond General Manager Award in 2023.
Beyond hotel operations, Kenui has remained actively involved in community initiatives. He previously served on the Wailea Community Association Board and participated in environmental stewardship programmes, including the adoption and regular clean-up of a two-mile stretch along Piʻilani Highway.
Kenui also helped establish Hawaiʻi’s first Children’s Miracle Network Torch Relay and continues to support the annual fundraising campaign benefiting Kapiʻolani Medical Center for Women & Children. Since its launch, the initiative has raised more than $100,000 to support local families.
With extensive operational experience and strong ties to the local community, Kenui’s appointment marks a new chapter for Sheraton Maui Resort & Spa as it continues to serve Maui visitors.
