Holiday Inn Mathura to Open by 2030 in Growing Spiritual Tourism Market

IHG Hotels & Resorts has signed a management agreement with Embrassio Hotels & Resorts Private Limited, the hospitality arm of Vrindara Group, to develop Holiday Inn Mathura. The hotel is scheduled to open in early 2030 and will strengthen IHG’s presence in emerging travel destinations across India.

The signing reflects the growing demand for branded accommodation in Mathura, one of India’s most-visited spiritual destinations. The city continues to attract pilgrims and leisure travellers from across the country, creating opportunities for new hospitality developments.

Holiday Inn Mathura will feature 115 rooms and suites, along with three dining outlets: an all-day dining restaurant, a bar, and a lobby lounge. The property will also offer meeting and event facilities across five venues, including a ballroom, as well as a fitness centre and swimming pool.

Sudeep Jain, Managing Director, South West Asia, IHG Hotels & Resorts, said the partnership with Embrassio Hotels & Resorts supports the company’s strategy of expanding in high-potential destinations where demand for quality hospitality infrastructure continues to grow.

Krishna Kumar Sharma, Managing Director, Vrindara Group, said the partnership will bring an internationally recognised hotel brand to Mathura, helping cater to the needs of the city’s increasing visitor base while delivering global hospitality standards.

The project adds to IHG’s growing portfolio in India. The company currently operates 52 hotels across six brands in the country and has a pipeline of 98 hotels planned over the next three to five years.

With spiritual tourism continuing to grow and infrastructure development supporting increased visitor traffic, Mathura is emerging as an important market for hotel investment and branded hospitality offerings.
