Dieter Vranckx, Chief Commercial Officer of Lufthansa Group, stated that there are currently no indications of fuel supply risks at the group’s six European hubs: Frankfurt, Munich, Zurich, Vienna, Brussels, and Rome, or at its international destinations.

Addressing concerns related to the situation in the Middle East and the Strait of Hormuz, Vranckx explained that Europe has increased fuel imports from regions including North America and Africa. He also noted that European refineries have increased jet fuel production to support demand during the summer months.

The airline group said travellers can continue planning holidays and business trips without concerns about disruptions linked to fuel shortages. Lufthansa Group currently operates flights to more than 300 destinations across over 100 countries.

Vranckx added that if unexpected cancellations occurred due to fuel-related issues, passengers would have the option to either rebook or receive a full refund under the group’s existing policy.

He also said partner airlines are preparing to operate close to normal schedules this summer, supported by continued global demand for air travel.

Lufthansa Group stated that its airlines and route network are prepared for the busy summer travel period, with customers continuing to book both short-haul and long-haul journeys.
