Hyatt Italy Growth Continues with Three New Hotel Openings

Hyatt Hotels Corporation has announced plans to expand its presence in Italy with three new hotel openings, adding 428 rooms and suites across key destinations.

The developments include the introduction of the Hyatt Regency and Thompson Hotels brands to Italy, as well as a new Park Hyatt property in Sicily. The expansion reflects Hyatt’s continued focus on growing its portfolio in one of Europe’s important travel markets.

Hyatt currently operates six hotels across five brands, with properties in Milan, Venice, Rome, Florence and Sardinia. The company has expanded its room inventory in the country since 2019 and continues to strengthen its presence across Europe.

Hyatt Regency Debuts in Italy

Hyatt Regency Rome Central is expected to open near Rome’s Termini railway station in late 2026.

The hotel will feature 238 rooms and suites, a rooftop pool, pool bar and dining venues. The property is designed to serve both business and leisure travellers while supporting the demand for meetings and events in the Italian capital.

The opening will mark the debut of the Hyatt Regency brand in Italy.

Thompson Hotels Arrives in Rome

Thompson Rome is also scheduled to open in 2026, introducing the Thompson Hotels brand to the Italian market.

Located in a restored heritage building near the Colosseum, Roman Forum and Piazza Venezia, the hotel is expected to offer 69 rooms alongside multiple dining venues, including a rooftop restaurant and bar.

The project reflects Hyatt’s strategy of bringing lifestyle-focused hospitality brands to major urban destinations.

Park Hyatt Expands to Sicily

Park Hyatt Taormina is expected to open in 2028 and will be the second Park Hyatt property in Italy, following Park Hyatt Milan.

Located in Sicily, the hotel will feature 121 suites, private terraces, views of the Ionian Sea and Mount Etna, dining venues inspired by local cuisine and a dedicated spa.

The development will expand Hyatt’s luxury offering in southern Italy and strengthen the brand’s presence in one of the country’s established leisure destinations.
