Fairmont Introduces “Special Happens” Experiences Across Global Portfolio

New guest experiences span culture, nature, dining and after-dark activities

Fairmont Hotels & Resorts has introduced a new set of guest experiences under its “Special Happens” series, available across selected properties worldwide.

The initiative includes six newly introduced experiences, organised into four themes: “After Dark”, “In the Wild”, “Around the Table” and “In the Spotlight”. The programme focuses on connecting guests with local culture, landscapes and culinary traditions across different destinations.

Experiences designed around local destinations and themes

The “In the Wild” category includes activities such as a helicopter tour over the Great Wall of China from Fairmont Beijing, a guided foraging and culinary journey at Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge in Canada, and a nature-led experience at Fairmont Mount Kenya Safari Club.

Under the “After Dark” theme, guests can take part in evening-based activities such as a night visit to the Yellow Crane Tower in Wuhan, a solar eclipse viewing experience in Tangier, and a stargazing programme on Scotland’s east coast at Fairmont St Andrews.

The programme also includes cultural and community-led experiences under “In the Spotlight”, such as village visits in Rajasthan and access to heritage sites and music-related spaces in Switzerland.

“Around the Table” focuses on dining-led experiences, including locally inspired meals, culinary journeys, and themed dining concepts across destinations such as Seoul and Hawaii.

Focus on experiential travel across Fairmont properties

The “Special Happens” initiative reflects a broader focus on experiential travel within the hospitality sector, where hotels are expanding their offerings beyond accommodation to include curated activities linked to local environments and traditions.

These experiences are being introduced across Fairmont’s global portfolio, with each property adapting the programme to reflect its location and cultural context.
