Hyatt Hotels Corporation has announced two new leadership changes in the Asia Pacific region.
Sunjae Sharma- Appointed to a larger role in the Asia Pacific region

Sunjae Sharma, currently Managing Director for India and Southwest Asia, will relocate to Hong Kong to assume expanded responsibilities across the Asia Pacific region.
His move follows more than two decades with Hyatt Hotels, having joined the company in 2002 at Grand Hyatt Delhi. During his tenure, Sharma has contributed to the growth of Hyatt’s presence in India, supporting the expansion of the brand’s portfolio and strengthening operational capabilities in the market.
Vikas Chawla- Appointed as President, India & Southwest Asia

Effective April 1, Vikas Chawla will take over as President for India and Southwest Asia. Based in India, he will oversee Hyatt’s strategy, performance, and development in the region and will report to David Udell, Group President – Asia Pacific.
Vikas Chawla brings nearly three decades of experience across food services, beverages, and consulting. Prior to joining Hyatt, he served as Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Compass Group India, part of Compass Group.
Earlier in his career, he founded beverage brand Raskik and held senior leadership roles at The Coca-Cola Company across India and Southeast Europe.
India remains a key growth market for Hyatt Hotels, with the company currently operating more than 50 hotels across the country and plans to expand its portfolio to around 100 properties by 2030. In his new role, Chawla will focus on strengthening owner partnerships and supporting the company’s continued expansion across India and Southwest Asia.
