Hilton Targets Double Presence in Brazil by 2030 Amidst Regional Expansion
Hilton aims to double its hotel portfolio in Brazil by 2030, expanding its presence across 10 brands. The company currently operates nearly 30 hotels in the country. In 2025, approximately 25% of Hilton’s total room approvals in the Caribbean and Latin America (CALA) region were designated for Brazil.

Christian Charnaux, Executive Vice President and Chief Development Officer for Hilton, noted during a recent visit that Brazil represents a significant market opportunity for hotel owners.

Planned openings demonstrate a strategy to expand beyond São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro, reaching cities from Maceió to Porto Alegre.
Key upcoming developments include:
- Motto by Hilton Recife Antigo: Recently opened, marking the brand’s and Hilton’s first hotel in Recife.
- Casa Costa Ilhabela, Curio Collection by Hilton: Expected in 2026, a 46-room hotel.
- Hilton Manaus: Scheduled for 2028, situated near the city’s malls and international airport.
- Hilton Garden Inn Natal: Anticipated in 2028, this 164-room hotel will be the first Hilton property in Natal, Rio Grande do Norte.
- Sanpiero Hotel Caminhos de Pedra, Curio Collection by Hilton: Set for 2028 in Bento Gonçalves, within Brazil’s wine region.
Hilton also continues to focus on airport hospitality. Following the 2019 opening of Hampton by Hilton Guarulhos Airport, future airport projects include Tru by Hilton São Paulo Congonhas Airport (2028), Hilton Garden Inn São Paulo Congonhas (2029), and Hilton Garden Inn Floripa Airport (2029) at Florianópolis-Hercílio Luz International Airport.

Hotel conversions constitute over half of Hilton’s existing portfolio in Brazil. Notable conversions include Hilton Garden Inn Belo Horizonte (2016), Hilton Rio de Janeiro Copacabana (2017), Yoo2 Rio de Janeiro, Tapestry Collection by Hilton, and Hilton Garden Inn Maceio. The company is also evaluating introducing the Spark by Hilton brand in Brazil.
In residential developments, Qoya Residences Curitiba, Curio Collection by Hilton, is expected to debut in 2028, located alongside Qoya Hotel Curitiba. This project offers residents access to hotel amenities.
This Brazilian expansion is part of Hilton’s broader strategy in CALA, where the company operates over 300 hotels and has a pipeline of more than 150 projects.
