American Airlines Adds Non-Alcoholic IPA, New Cocktails and Updated In-Flight Menus for 2026
American Airlines is introducing a range of updates to its in-flight food and beverage programme in 2026, with new beverage choices and refreshed meal options across all cabins.
Non-alcoholic IPA joins the inflight menu from February 1
From February 1, customers will be able to order Athletic Brewing Company’s Free Wave Hazy IPA onboard, marking American’s first inflight non-alcoholic beer option. The addition follows customer interest in Athletic Brewing’s non-alcoholic products, which are currently offered in Flagship and Admirals Club lounges, extending the brand’s presence to the in-flight experience.
Expanded beverage lineup with new mixers and sparkling water

American is also expanding its onboard beverage selection. Q Margarita Mix, often paired with Socorro Tequila, will continue to be available, while Q Tonic Water and Q Club Soda will be introduced alongside the brand’s margarita mix. Zing Zang Bloody Mary Mix will also be added to the in-flight menu.
Starting in February, American will introduce two LaCroix Sparkling Water flavours for the first time onboard: Lime and Berry.
Refreshed meals for Main Cabin and Premium Economy

Beginning February 1, Main Cabin customers on select flights within the U.S., Canada, the Caribbean and Mexico will have access to updated buy-on-board meal options, including a chicken salad and Boursin cheese wrap, served with coleslaw and a lemon shortbread cookie. The meal will be available on mainline routes for $13 or 1,300 AAdvantage miles.

American is also introducing additional entrée selections for Premium Economy and Main Cabin on U.S. to international routes, including:
Barbecue chicken with grits
Beef fajita bowl
Hoisin chicken
Chimichurri chicken
Vegetable yakiniku noodles
Honey mustard chicken
For customers travelling from the U.S. to destinations in China, Japan and Korea, new menu options in Premium Economy and Main Cabin include:
Orange chicken
Korean barbecue noodles with shiitake mushrooms
Beef bibimbap
Beef noodles
Egg fried rice
Scrambled egg with tomato compote, spinach and cheese
Dakdoritang braised chicken
Vegetable yakiniku noodles
Payment options onboard

American continues to offer tap-to-pay technology onboard and allows customers to redeem AAdvantage miles for in-flight food and beverage purchases. The airline also highlighted that AAdvantage members can access free high-speed Wi-Fi on select aircraft, sponsored by AT&T.
With these updates, American Airlines is expanding its in-flight menu and beverage offerings, giving customers more choices across routes and cabins.
