Marriott Expands Global Portfolio as JW Marriott Ranthambore Welcomes Guests

Marriott International has announced the opening of its 10,000th property worldwide, the JW Marriott Ranthambore Resort & Spa in Rajasthan, marking a significant milestone for the hospitality company as it approaches its 100th anniversary.

The opening reflects Marriott’s growth from a small family-run business founded nearly a century ago into a hotel group with properties across 146 countries and territories.

Anthony Capuano, President and Chief Executive Officer of Marriott International, said the milestone was made possible by the efforts of Marriott associates worldwide and the continued support of property owners who have invested in the company’s brands.

He noted that marking the occasion with a JW Marriott property carries particular significance, as the brand is named after Marriott co-founder J. Willard Marriott, whose legacy continues to influence the company’s approach to hospitality and service.

The JW Marriott Ranthambore Resort & Spa celebrated its opening with company leaders, associates, and ownership representatives, including David Marriott, Chairman of the Board; Rajeev Menon, President of Asia Pacific excluding China (APEC); and resort owner Nilesh Gadhiya and his family.

Located close to Ranthambore National Park, the resort features 127 accommodations, including villas, guestrooms and suites. Guests can enjoy a range of dining experiences showcasing Indian cuisine, regional dishes, and botanically inspired beverages, alongside facilities designed to connect visitors with the surrounding natural environment.

The opening also adds to Marriott’s luxury portfolio, with the JW Marriott brand now operating more than 130 properties globally.

In recent months, Marriott has continued to expand its portfolio across various market segments. New additions include The St. Regis Budapest in Hungary, The Westin Playa Vallarta, an All-Inclusive Resort in Mexico, Artik Suzhou, Apartments by Marriott Bonvoy in China, and StudioRes by Marriott Greensboro Airport in the United States.

As Marriott approaches its centenary year, the company continues to expand its presence across established and emerging travel destinations while catering to a broad range of traveller preferences.
