Waldorf Astoria New York Unveils Restored Grand Ballroom and Event Spaces
Waldorf Astoria New York has opened its restored Grand Ballroom and heritage event spaces as part of its reopening season. The return of these venues adds to the hotel’s reconfigured guest rooms, suites, and dining outlets, marking the next stage in its phased comeback on Park Avenue.
The property has been part of New York’s cultural and social life for over a century, hosting events such as the first Tony Awards, early Met Galas, and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony. The restoration brings back the Grand Ballroom, Silver Corridor, Astor Salon, Basildon Room, and Jade Room, combining preserved Art Deco details with updated infrastructure and technology.

“Waldorf Astoria New York has served as the backdrop for so many significant moments across history, including important speeches, galas and events,” said Danny Hughes, President, Americas, Hilton.
“Today, we unveil the next chapter in Waldorf Astoria New York’s opening season – once again, this ballroom will be the center of New York’s social scene. Visitors to the property will see how it blends its storied past and timeless elegance with a bold vision for the future of luxury stays and events in New York City.”
The Grand Ballroom has been refurbished with new lighting, audio-visual systems, and rigging, while preserving its original design elements, including the decorative ceiling medallion. The Basildon Room, Silver Corridor, Jade Room, and Astor Salon have also been restored, each maintaining its historic character with updated systems to support events.

The hotel now offers 43,000 square feet of event space across 14 rooms. Additional amenities for events include a dedicated coat check, private entrance with elevators, on-site production support, and a new 10th-floor terrace for smaller gatherings.

Guest accommodations include 375 rooms and suites, designed with layouts resembling private apartments. Five speciality suites will be available later this year. The property also introduces the Guerlain Wellness Spa, opening in fall 2025, with treatment rooms, a fitness centre, and retail boutiques.
Dining options include Peacock Alley, Lex Yard led by Chef Michael Anthony, and Yoshoku with a Japanese-inspired tasting menu by Chef Ry Nitzkowski.

Above the hotel, the Waldorf Astoria Residences New York feature 372 condominium homes with private residential amenities. The property is located at 301 Park Avenue, New York, NY 10022.
