W Sardinia Opening Marks New Step in Italy

W Sardinia Hotel Brings Design and Dining to Poltu Quatu

W Hotels, part of Marriott International, has opened W Sardinia – Poltu Quatu, following a preview phase in 2025. The property adds to the brand’s presence in Italy, alongside W Rome and W Florence.

Located on the northeast coast of Sardinia, between Porto Cervo and Baia Sardinia, the hotel overlooks the marina at Poltu Quatu. The resort is built into a natural fjord, with whitewashed structures set against granite cliffs and Mediterranean surroundings.

The property includes 157 guestrooms and suites, designed by Meyer Davis with architecture by DE.TALES. Interiors draw on local materials and references, combining contemporary design with regional influences. Selected suites include private plunge pools, while two penthouse suites feature terraces, private pools and residential-style amenities.

Public spaces include a marina-facing restaurant, lounge areas, a pool deck, a spa, and a fitness centre. Dining is led by Chef Antonio Bitetto, with menus focused on regional ingredients and local culinary traditions. The hotel also incorporates artworks and design elements created in collaboration with Sardinian artists.

Experiences at the W Hotels property include cultural activities, guided outdoor programmes, and boat excursions along the coastline, with access to the La Maddalena Archipelago and Caprera. Wellness offerings extend beyond indoor facilities, with outdoor sessions such as yoga and walking routes around the marina.

The opening reflects W Hotels’ continued focus on expanding its presence in key Italian destinations.
