Turkish Airlines Extends Reach to Sydney and Santiago

Turkish Airlines has announced the launch of new flights to Sydney, Australia, and Santiago, Chile. Transportation and Infrastructure Minister Abdulkadir Uraloğlu revealed these routes to enhance the airline’s map.

Sydney Flights Begin November 28

Starting 28th November 2024, Turkish Airlines will launch its second Australian route, connecting Istanbul to Sydney. The route will be operated with a stopover in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, four times a week on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.

The inaugural flight will depart from Istanbul at 1:15 p.m. and is scheduled to arrive at Sydney Kingsford Smith Airport at 4:30 p.m. the following day, following a 70-minute refuelling stop in Kuala Lumpur. Return flights will leave Sydney at 8:40 p.m. and will arrive back in Istanbul at 10:15 a.m. Initially, these flights will be operated using a Boeing 777 aircraft, which features a 2-2-2 configuration in business class. However, starting December 3rd, the airline will switch to an Airbus A350, offering a 1-2-1 flatbed seating arrangement in business class.

Santiago Flights Start December 18

On December 18, 2024, Turkish Airlines will launch its first flight to Santiago, Chile, marking its debut in the South American country. The Istanbul-based carrier will operate four weekly flights, departing Istanbul and stopping in São Paulo, Brazil, before continuing to Santiago.

This route signifies a milestone for Turkish Airlines as it expands its footprint in South America, joining other destinations, including São Paulo, Buenos Aires, and Bogota.

A Growing Global Network

These new routes bring Turkish Airlines’ network to 349 destinations worldwide, cementing its status as one of the world’s most connected carriers.
