Bangkok Event Focuses on Thailand’s Cultural Approach to MICE

The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) hosted the Amazing Thailand Bangkok Night Luxe reception on 18 April 2026 as part of InVoyage Global 2026, presenting the country’s cultural identity and luxury travel offering to more than 200 international MICE organisers. The event forms part of TAT’s ongoing efforts to position Thailand as a destination for incentive travel and business events.

TAT Governor Thapanee Kiatphaibool said Thailand’s cultural heritage plays an important role in shaping its MICE offering. She noted that elements such as craftsmanship, wellness traditions, and living heritage help create experiences that are relevant for international buyers seeking culturally grounded programmes.

Guests were welcomed by Ms Thapanee alongside Richard Joslin, Supawan Teerarat, and Michael Parker. Their presence marked Thailand’s hosting of InVoyage Global for the first time in Southeast Asia, held in Bangkok from 17 to 20 April 2026.

The reception was held at SEEN Rooftop Bar Bangkok and centred on the theme ‘The Soul of Thai’. The programme highlighted cultural elements through performances and curated showcases of local craftsmanship.

A Heritage Terrace featured traditional practices, including royal garland weaving and silverwork by Karen hill-tribe artisans from Stories of Silver, reflecting the traditions of the Pgaz K’Nyau community.

An exhibition space titled The Soul Gallery presented work from Thai artisans, including embroidery, silk spinning, gemstone jewellery, khon mask-making, bamboo weaving, and handwoven textiles from Chainat Province. Wellness brand DIVANA hosted a herbal sachet activity using Thai botanicals.

TAT used the event to engage directly with MICE planners and demonstrate how cultural elements can be integrated into travel programmes.

Recent data indicates that travellers in this segment spend an average of 85,951 Baht per trip and stay approximately 12.68 nights. Destinations such as Bangkok, Phuket, and Chon Buri continue to see consistent demand. Longer stays also support engagement with local communities and contribute to the distribution of tourism revenue in line with Thailand’s Value over Volume approach.
