Thailand Announces Nationwide Countdown Events to Welcome 2026
Thailand will welcome the arrival of 2026 with a nationwide programme of New Year countdown celebrations, led by two flagship events organised by the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) in Phayao and Su-ngai Kolok, alongside multiple TAT-supported festivities across Bangkok and key destinations nationwide.

Thapanee Kiatphaibool, TAT Governor, said, “The two flagship events organized by TAT in Phayao and Su-ngai Kolok represent a strategic focus on showcasing regional identity through meaningful, high-quality celebrations. These events are complemented by strong public–private collaboration in Bangkok and other provinces, creating a nationwide countdown atmosphere that invites visitors to experience Thailand’s diversity at the turn of the year. The combined programme reinforces confidence in Thailand as a welcoming, creative and culturally rich destination as the country enters 2026.”
In northern Thailand, the Amazing Thailand Phayao Countdown Flora Fest 2026 will be held from 28–31 December 2025 at Pho Khun Ngam Mueang Monument Plaza and the Kwan Phayao area. The four-day programme includes lighting installations, floral displays, drone shows scheduled from 29–31 December, and a fireworks display on New Year’s Eve. The event will conclude with a formal countdown ceremony attended by invited guests and officials.

In the country’s southern border region, the Amazing Thailand Su-ngai Kolok Countdown 2026 will take place from 28–31 December 2025 at Sirindhorn Public Park in Su-ngai Kolok, Narathiwat. The event programme combines decorative lighting, concerts by Thai artists and performances reflecting local cultural traditions. The New Year’s Eve programme includes a countdown ceremony and fireworks display, with participation from representatives from Thailand and Malaysia, highlighting the town’s role as a cross-border tourism hub.

In Bangkok, several large-scale countdown events are scheduled. Amazing Thailand Countdown 2026 at ICONSIAM, running from 27–31 December, will feature fireworks, drone displays and live performances along the Chao Phraya River. One Bangkok Countdown Celebration 2026 on 31 December will host performances and light-and-sound installations at the newly developed district.
CentralwOrld Bangkok Countdown 2026, also on 31 December, will include live concerts and fireworks, while NEON Countdown 2026 at Rajamangala National Stadium on 30–31 December will focus on electronic dance music performances. Extravaganza Sukhumvit Countdown 2026 on 31 December will involve coordinated fireworks displays across sections of Sukhumvit Road, linking multiple commercial and entertainment areas.
Outside the capital, several provincial destinations will host local countdown events. Hat Yai New Year 2026 on 30–31 December will take place at Thumnoonvithi Road in Songkhla, featuring live music and cultural performances. Hua Hin Countdown 2026, scheduled for 31 December at the InterContinental Hua Hin Resort, will offer beachfront celebrations with music and fireworks. Udon Countdown 2026 at UD TOWN in Udon Thani on 31 December will include entertainment programmes, food zones and a midnight fireworks display.
Collectively, the nationwide programme is designed to support year-end travel, encourage regional tourism and provide visitors with a range of cultural and entertainment experiences across Thailand during the New Year period.
