Taj Retains Top Luxury Hotel Brand Ranking

Indian Hotels Company (IHCL) has announced that its flagship brand, Taj, has been recognised as the World’s Strongest Luxury Hotel Brand in the Brand Finance Hotels 50 2026 report. This is the fifth time the brand has received the recognition.

The annual report by Brand Finance UK evaluates hotel brands worldwide based on brand value and brand strength.

Commenting on the achievement, Puneet Chhatwal, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, IHCL, said Taj has represented Indian hospitality for more than a century and continues to connect with travellers across different markets and generations. He added that the recognition reflects the dedication of the company’s more than 50,000 associates, who continue to uphold the values associated with the brand.

According to the Brand Finance Hotels 50 2026 report, Taj recorded a Brand Strength Index (BSI) score of 93.5 out of 100 and retained its AAA+ brand strength rating. The report also noted that the brand’s value increased by 32% to US$878 million.

David Haigh, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Brand Finance, said Taj’s performance reflects its ability to combine Indian heritage with personalized hospitality while maintaining a strong presence in the international hospitality market.

Currently, the hotel brand manages 150 properties in 14 countries, which include heritage palaces, city hotels, beach and spa resorts, wildlife lodges, and serviced residences.
