Taj Cidade de Goa has announced its recognition with the Green Key Certification 2025.

Taj Cidade de Goa has received the Green Key Certification 2025, recognising the hotel’s efforts in sustainability, environmental responsibility, and responsible hospitality. This makes it the first hotel in the IHCL portfolio to achieve this certification.

The hotel integrates sustainability into its operations through IHCL’s Paathya framework, focusing on water and energy conservation, cultural collaborations with local artists, and community-focused initiatives. The framework covers environmental stewardship, inclusive growth, heritage preservation, responsible governance, and social impact while maintaining guest experiences.

Taj Cidade de Goa plans to achieve further sustainability targets, including full use of STP-treated water, elimination of charcoal and fuel tins, and plastic-free banquets. The certification establishes the hotel as a participant in sustainable tourism practices in Goa.

Ranjit Phillipose

Ranjit Phillipose, Senior Vice President, Operations – IHCL Goa, said,  “At IHCL Goa, we believe that true luxury is also defined by responsibility. Taj Cidade de Goa’s Green Key Certification is a proud milestone – not only as the first within the IHCL portfolio but as a symbol of our unwavering commitment to Paathya, our ESG Platform for sustainability. This recognition reinforces our vision of offering guests world-class experiences that are deeply respectful of the environment and the communities we serve.
