SWISS Reports Easter Travel Performance in 2026
Easter travel demand and operations update from SWISS
Swiss International Air Lines has reported its operational performance over the Easter holiday period in 2026, reflecting continued demand for air travel.
Between 3 and 6 April 2026, the airline carried 211,527 passengers across 1,657 flights. Flight operations remained consistent, with 99.3 per cent of services operating as scheduled and a departure punctuality rate of 77.2 per cent.
Compared to the previous year, the airline operated slightly fewer flights (1,725 in 2025) and carried 225,885 passengers during the same period.

Oliver Buchhofer, Chief Operating Officer at SWISS, said the airline’s performance over the Easter weekend reflects the effectiveness of operational measures and coordination across teams and partners.
European city routes and North American destinations saw steady demand during the holiday period. Among short-haul routes, London Heathrow, Berlin and Barcelona recorded the highest passenger numbers. On long-haul routes, New York, Miami and Chicago were among the most travelled destinations.

As part of its onboard service during the Easter period, SWISS distributed around 230,000 chocolate Easter bunnies to passengers travelling during the holiday.
Looking ahead, the airline plans to add capacity on selected short-haul routes in May, with 31 additional rotations to destinations including Málaga, Alicante, Stockholm, Athens, Malta, Porto, Palma de Mallorca, Palermo and Thessaloniki.
