Six Senses Signs New Hotel Project in Beijing
Six Senses Beijing project to open in Haidian District
Six Senses has announced the signing of Six Senses Beijing, a new hotel planned for the Haidian District of the Chinese capital. The project is being developed in partnership with Beijing Zhongguancun Avenue Construction & Development Group and forms part of the ongoing renewal of Liulangzhuang, an area being repositioned for cultural activity and international engagement.
The site sits within the Three Hills and Five Gardens landscape, an area historically linked to imperial retreats, including the Summer Palace. The development aims to reflect this context while introducing a hospitality offering aligned with the location’s heritage.

Neil Palmer, Chief Operating Officer at Six Senses, said the project reflects the brand’s focus on destinations with cultural context, adding that the property is intended to offer a space where guests can engage with Beijing’s heritage through a considered design approach.
Six Senses Beijing will be the brand’s second property in Greater China, alongside Six Senses Qing Cheng Mountain. The brand continues to expand across urban and resort locations globally, with properties in cities such as Rome, Kyoto and London.
The development will include 75 guest rooms and suites, designed to reinterpret traditional siheyuan-style residences with a contemporary approach to courtyard living. The layout will incorporate gardens, shared courtyards and pathways inspired by hutong neighbourhoods, connecting buildings across two linked sites.
Water features, including ponds and canals, will form part of the landscape, reflecting the area’s historical use and supporting the project’s design direction. Some accommodation units will include access to private gardens or boat jetties.
Dining and public areas will be arranged in pavilion-style structures, positioned along the water. A private residence within the property will offer space for small gatherings and events, with access by boat or road.

Wellness facilities will include spa treatments, personalised programmes and multi-day experiences, alongside features such as the Earth Lab and Alchemy Bar, which focus on sustainability and hands-on guest participation.
Cheng Yue, Chairman of Beijing Haidian Urban Renewal Development Co., Ltd., said the project reflects a shared approach among partners to integrate design, construction and operations within a single framework.
Six Senses continues to expand its presence within IHG Hotels & Resorts’ portfolio, with ongoing developments across Asia, Europe and the Middle East.
