Qantas Regional Grants Support Nearly 50 Community Groups with $2 Million in Funding and Resources
Nearly 50 community groups across regional Australia will receive a share of $2 million in funding, flights, and marketing support through the 2025 Qantas Regional Grants program.
This marks the most significant number of recipients in the program’s history, following a record 3,000 applications—a 70% increase from the previous year and the most since the initiative began in 2019.
Selected Recipients Include:
MHA Care Moira Foodshare (Victoria) – Funding for a refrigerated van to safely deliver perishable food to rural communities.
STEM Changemakers (Queensland) – A free two-month program encouraging girls to explore careers in STEM.
Tweed District Rescue Squad (NSW) – Support for portable two-way radios to assist emergency volunteers.
Remote Op Shop (Northern Territory) – A mobile op shop truck to serve remote First Nations communities.
Sam’s Spares (Western Australia) – Refurbished laptops for 100 regional students in need.
QantasLink CEO Rachel Yangoyan said the program continues to recognise the role of local organisations in supporting regional communities.

“This year’s recipients are active across diverse areas—from food relief and education to community support and emergency services,” said Ms Yangoyan.
“We were encouraged by the number of applications, which shows the range of impactful work happening across the country.”
Since launching in 2019, the Qantas Regional Grants program has provided $7 million in support to nearly 130 not-for-profit groups, helping to strengthen community services and build local capacity.

The judging panel for 2025 included QantasLink Chief Pilot Captain David Nelson, two QantasLink team members, and two independent community panellists. Applications were evaluated based on need, potential impact, and alignment with the program’s objectives.

The grants initiative complements Qantas’ broader efforts in regional Australia, including ongoing airfare discounts for residents in 16 towns. Since the fare program began in 2017, over 300,000 discounted tickets have been purchased. In FY25, the Qantas Group spent more than $1.1 billion with regional suppliers.
Applications for the 2026 Regional Grants Program will open on 21 February 2026 via qantas.com/regionalgrants.
