Sri Lanka Tourism Highlights Island Heritage at Embassy Festival in The Hague
Sri Lanka Tourism, in collaboration with the Embassy of Sri Lanka in The Hague, participated in the Embassy Festival held recently in the Netherlands, promoting the island’s diverse travel offerings to European audiences.
The Sri Lanka pavilion showcased a variety of attractions, including cultural performances, live culinary demonstrations, and displays of traditional handicrafts, spices, and Ceylon tea. Visitors had the chance to experience aspects of Sri Lanka’s wellness tourism, such as Ayurveda, and to learn more about the country’s year-round travel opportunities, ranging from beautiful beaches and wildlife to scenic hill-country landscapes.

The Embassy Festival, an annual event that brings together over 40 diplomatic missions and international organizations, serves as a cultural and tourism platform to engage Dutch and international visitors. This year’s edition welcomed thousands of attendees, offering Sri Lanka a meaningful opportunity to showcase its culture, cuisine, and hospitality.

Sri Lanka Tourism views the Netherlands as an important source market in Europe, with ongoing efforts to strengthen its visibility and attract more travelers to the destination. As of 23 October 2025, Sri Lanka recorded 1,845,164 total tourist arrivals, including 54,762 visitors from the Netherlands.
