Singapore Tourism Board Launches AI-Powered Visitor Guide Pilot with Robodogs
Singapore Tourism Board (STB) has partnered with Mafengwo to pilot AI-enabled, multilingual visitor guides at selected attractions in Singapore. The programme will run from April 18 to May 17, 2026.

The pilot introduces robotic guide units, referred to as robodogs, at Sentosa Sensoryscape as well as Exploria and Curiosity Cove at Mandai Wildlife Reserve. The robodogs are designed to provide real-time assistance and curated information in English and Mandarin, using artificial intelligence and travel content from Mafengwo’s platform.
STB Pilots AI-Driven Visitor Experience with Robodogs
At Sentosa, the robodogs are deployed to guide visitors through Sensoryscape, a connector linking Resorts World Sentosa to nearby beaches. The system is programmed to interact with visitors, gather preferences and recommend attractions within Sentosa. In addition to guided tours, the robodogs are scheduled to perform demonstrations and participate in meet-and-greet sessions.
Visitors can access these experiences through advance bookings via Sentosa’s official channels. The robodogs are also expected to engage visitors at selected attractions across the island, including Wings of Time Fireworks Symphony and Skyline Luge Singapore.
At Mandai Wildlife Reserve, the robodogs are integrated into two indoor attractions: Exploria, a multimedia experience space, and Curiosity Cove, a play area for families. Their role includes visitor interaction, basic guidance and scheduled appearances within attraction zones.
According to STB and its partners, the pilot aims to test the use of AI-driven tools in enhancing visitor engagement and personalisation. The programme will also assess user interaction patterns and operational performance to inform potential future applications.
“The pilots in Sentosa and the Mandai Wildlife Reserve mark an exciting step towards reimagining visitor experiences through technology and innovation,” said Oliver Chong, Assistant Chief Executive International Group, Singapore Tourism Board. “Through our collaboration with Mafengwo, we look forward to continue delivering more personalised, engaging and differentiated experiences that set Singapore apart.”
Michael Ma, Assistant Chief Executive (Business & Digital Technology Group), Sentosa Development Corporation, said, “At Sentosa, we are constantly exploring innovative ways to elevate the guest journey as part of our Smart Sentosa strategy. Sentosa Sensoryscape is a multi-sensorial green connector designed to engage our natural senses. Introducing these Sentosa Robodogs as a multilingual guide adds a new dimension of interactivity and wonder. Beyond leveraging Sentosa as a testbed for novel ideas, we will continue to push the boundaries of immersive experiences, continually innovating to create memorable moments for our guests.”
Jean Choi, Chief Sales Officer, Mandai Wildlife Group, said, “Exploria and Curiosity Cove were designed to immerse and delight our guests in ways that feel personal and memorable. The robodogs are a perfect example of technology used to enhance that – bringing a fun and functional dimension to the experience, whether by guiding guests through our indoor attractions, adding a touch of surprise and delight, or offering a more personalised experience for each guest. We are excited to be piloting this at the Mandai Wildlife Reserve and look forward to seeing how this new layer of interaction enriches the visitor experience.”

Chen Gang, Chief Executive Officer, Mafengwo, said, “We are excited to partner with STB, Sentosa and Mandai Wildlife Group to bring this innovation to life. By combining our AI capabilities with rich travel content, we aim to create more intuitive, personalised and inspiring ways for travellers to discover destinations.”
The initiative is part of ongoing collaboration between Singapore Tourism Board and Mafengwo, focusing on integrating digital tools into tourism experiences. Stakeholders indicated that insights from the pilot could support broader applications across tourism and related sectors.
