Sarawak to Host PATA Travel Mart 2026 at Borneo Convention Centre Kuching
The Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) has announced that PATA Travel Mart 2026 (PTM 2026) will be held in Sarawak, Malaysia, at the Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK) from August 18–20, 2026. The event is endorsed by the Ministry of Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts Sarawak, hosted by the Sarawak Tourism Board (STB), and supported by Business Events Sarawak. This will be the first time PATA’s annual travel trade exhibition takes place in Sarawak.

PATA CEO Noor Ahmad Hamid said: “We appreciate the support of the Ministry of Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts Sarawak, the Sarawak Tourism Board, and Business Events Sarawak in hosting PATA Travel Mart 2026. The event coincides with Visit Malaysia 2026, PATA’s 75th Anniversary, and STB’s 45th year of membership with the Association, creating an important occasion for both Sarawak and our wider network. We look forward to working with our partners to highlight the strengths of the destination and demonstrate the value of collaboration across the Asia Pacific region.”

STB CEO Sharzede Datu Haji Salleh Askor said: “Hosting PATA Travel Mart 2026 is a significant step for Sarawak. It provides an opportunity to showcase our cultural heritage, biodiversity, and business-ready facilities while reinforcing our commitment to sustainable and regenerative tourism. This event also complements Visit Malaysia 2026 and will further strengthen connections with international industry leaders and stakeholders. We look forward to welcoming delegates to Sarawak, where there is always ‘More to Discover’.”
STB has been a PATA member since 1981 and has actively supported the Association’s programs on destination resilience and sustainability. Sarawak was among the first destinations in the Asia Pacific to implement the Tourism Destination Resilience (TDR) capacity building programme in partnership with PATA in 2024. Ongoing collaboration also includes initiatives on carbon offset projects, advocacy, sustainable urban tourism, biodiversity protection, and green hospitality development.
With this foundation of cooperation, the Malaysian state is well-positioned to host PTM 2026, bringing together tourism professionals from across the Asia Pacific to engage in dialogue and exchange on sustainable industry growth.
Further details about PATA Travel Mart 2026 will be announced in due course.
