Resplendent Ceylon Tropicsurf Partnership at Cape Weligama

Resplendent Ceylon has partnered with Tropicsurf to introduce surf experiences at Cape Weligama, located along Sri Lanka’s south coast.

Set on the curve of Weligama Bay, the resort offers access to surf conditions suited to a range of skill levels. The region’s warm waters and consistent waves have made it a regular destination for surfing, with nearby locations catering to both beginners and experienced surfers.

Through the partnership, guests at Cape Weligama can access guided surf sessions and personalized coaching programmes led by Tropicsurf instructors. The offering includes structured lessons and guided trips to surf breaks across the south coast.

The resort’s Cove Beach provides a setting for beginners, with calmer waves suitable for learning. For those with more experience, nearby areas such as Midigama and Mirissa offer more challenging surf conditions.

Programmes are designed to suit different levels, from introductory sessions to progression-focused coaching. Experiences include daily surf sessions and a “Surfari”, which takes guests to selected surf locations based on conditions such as tide and swell. Younger guests can also participate in introductory sessions held in controlled environments.

Surf sessions include coaching, equipment and supporting amenities, forming part of the resort’s wider experience offering. The collaboration reflects Resplendent Ceylon’s approach to developing activities that connect guests with the surrounding environment while maintaining a structured hospitality setting.
