Regent Seven Seas Cruises Marks Float-Out of New Prestige-Class Ship

Regent Seven Seas Cruises has reached a key construction milestone for the Seven Seas Prestige, the company’s first new ship class in a decade. The vessel floated out of dry dock on November 27, 2025, marking a significant step in its development and signalling the beginning of a new chapter for the cruise line.

“Seeing Seven Seas Prestige touch water for the first time represents the result of years of planning and close collaboration with our partners at Fincantieri,” said Jason Montague, Chief Luxury Officer for Regent Seven Seas Cruises.

“The response to this vessel indicates that travellers are anticipating something distinct, reflected in the significant booking activity on launch day. From the Skyview Regent Suite to the ship’s detailed design, Seven Seas Prestige reflects our continued focus on shaping the future of luxury travel.”

The float-out ceremony took place at the Fincantieri shipyard in Marghera, Italy. Brunetta Casara of Fincantieri served as Madrina, carrying out the traditional champagne bottle ceremony and ribbon cutting, followed by a blessing by the shipyard chaplain. Afterwards, the dry dock was flooded, marking the official float-out. Marco Spiga, Senior Director, Project Manager for Regent Seven Seas Cruises, addressed attendees and expressed appreciation for Fincantieri’s ongoing collaboration in bringing the new ship class to life.

With the float-out complete, Seven Seas Prestige has moved to the outfitting pier for the next phase of construction. Designers will now begin work on the suites—including the Skyview Regent Suite—as well as lounges and dining venues that will define the onboard experience.

Scheduled to debut in December 2026, Seven Seas Prestige will be the seventh ship in Regent’s fleet and the first of three ships in the Prestige-class series. A second ship is scheduled for 2030, with a third planned for 2033. This phased expansion will offer travellers additional opportunities to explore global destinations through Regent’s luxury cruising approach.

At 76,550 tons and with capacity for 822 guests and 630 crew members, Seven Seas Prestige will feature a high crew-to-guest ratio and expanded space compared to previous Regent vessels. During its inaugural season, the ship will operate 13 voyages across Europe and the Caribbean, including two transatlantic crossings. Itineraries, ranging from 10 to 15 nights, will highlight destinations such as Harvest Caye in Belize, the Panama Canal, and extended visits in cities including London, Lisbon, and Bordeaux.
