ibis Styles Mysuru has appointed Chef Gaurav Bansal as the new Head Chef. With over 13 years in the hospitality sector, Chef Gaurav is renowned for his expertise in Western cuisine and his talent for creating innovative fusion dishes that delight the taste buds.
Chef Gaurav brings extensive culinary expertise, having refined his skills at top hospitality venues, most recently as Executive Sous Chef at the Sheraton Grand Bangalore Hotel at Brigade Gateway.
In that position, he significantly oversaw the culinary operations for seven food and beverage outlets and extensive banquet facilities. His outstanding leadership and sharp focus on operational efficiency have consistently enhanced dining experiences while upholding strict food cost management.
Chef Gaurav has influenced notable brands throughout his career, including Four Points by Sheraton Ahmedabad, Coorg Wilderness Resort, and Courtyard and Fairfield by Marriott ORR Bengaluru. His unwavering commitment to culinary excellence, food safety, and brand integrity has set industry benchmarks and established him as a respected authority in the culinary field.
In his new position at ibis Styles Mysuru, Gaurav will lead the hotel’s culinary operations, which include designing innovative menus and overseeing staff recruitment, training, and leadership. He will ensure top-notch food preparation at The Verandah, the hotel’s all-day dining venue, and the upcoming rooftop restaurant, KA 16. Moreover, Gaurav will collaborate closely with the culinary team to create unique and high-quality dining experiences, enhancing the hotel’s culinary offerings.
Chef Gaurav, a graduate of Chitkara School of Hospitality with a B.Sc. in Hospitality and Hotel Administration, is proficient in English, Hindi, and Punjabi, which enhances his dynamic leadership style with a multicultural aspect. Outside the culinary world, he enjoys playing cricket and reading literature, where he finds inspiration from sportsmanship and storytelling.
