PATA and DevelopmentAid Sign MoU to Advance Tourism and Development Collaboration
Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with DevelopmentAid, an international information service provider headquartered in Nicosia, Cyprus. The agreement aims to strengthen knowledge sharing and build closer collaboration between the tourism sector and the global development community.
The partnership is intended to create practical links between tourism stakeholders and development organisations, supporting cooperation across areas such as research, access to funding, and capacity building. Through this collaboration, members of both organisations are expected to benefit from broader information exchange and new opportunities for engagement.

Commenting on the partnership, Noor Ahmad Hamid, Chief Executive Officer of PATA, said the agreement expands access to relevant information for PATA members while encouraging closer connections between the Asia Pacific travel and tourism sector and international development organisations. He noted that DevelopmentAid’s market intelligence can help members identify funding opportunities, build partnerships, and strengthen the role of knowledge in sustainable development initiatives.

Mariana Uzun, Head of Department Strategic Partnerships and Donors Relations at DevelopmentAid, said the partnership supports the organisation’s engagement with tourism stakeholders across the Asia-Pacific region. She added that combining PATA’s regional network with DevelopmentAid’s global data resources will support informed decision-making, partnerships, and development initiatives that benefit destinations, organisations, and communities.
Under the agreement, DevelopmentAid becomes an Affiliate Partner of PATA. The collaboration will include jointly developed initiatives such as research projects, co-created resources to support PATA members seeking development funding, and training programmes and webinars focused on areas including fundraising, tendering, and project cycle management. The partnership also includes mutual advocacy and promotional activities.
As part of the arrangement, DevelopmentAid will provide PATA members with one month of complimentary access to its platform, a ten per cent discount for first-time subscriptions, and access to the Call4Partners matchmaking service, which helps identify local and international partners for new or ongoing projects.
