High-Flying Drama: Passengers on Korean Air Flight Report Nosebleeds and Ear Pain

Passengers on a Korean Air flight to Taiwan had nosebleeds, acute earache, and other health problems after the cabin pressure failed due to an abrupt altitude drop. The airline later apologised for the incident and promised to investigate the reason for the glitch.

While some passengers had nosebleeds, others experienced hyperventilation, extreme discomfort, and ear problems. No significant injuries were reported, but at least 13 people were brought to the hospital for treatment after the pilot successfully returned to Incheon Airport, which serves Seoul’s capital.

According to a report from South Korea’s Yonhap news agency, the event caused chaos onboard as the plane dropped from more than 30,000 feet to 9,000 feet. This precipitous drop in altitude led the cabin pressurisation system to fail, resulting in health hazards and severe discomfort for passengers.

According to reports, two fliers experienced nosebleeds, and 15 others reported earache and hyperventilation. A Taiwanese passenger shared a video on Instagram explaining how the plane dipped shortly after dinner service and experienced turbulence in the cabin.
