Novotel Mumbai Juhu Beach Kicks Off Holidays with Cake Mixing Tradition

The Novotel Mumbai Juhu Beach poolside came alive with festive cheer on November 17, 2024, as the hotel hosted its much-anticipated annual cake-mixing ceremony. This event gathered guests and culinary enthusiasts for an afternoon of celebration, marking the beginning of the holiday season.

The festivities started with an elaborate brunch showcasing the culinary talents of the hotel’s renowned chefs. Attendees enjoyed a lavish spread, including freshly baked bread, artisanal pastries, regional specialities, and international favourites. The specially crafted menu highlighted seasonal ingredients while honouring traditional holiday flavours.

Neelabh Sahay, Director of Operations at Novotel Mumbai Juhu Beach, remarked, “Our cake-mixing ceremony is all about togetherness, marking the start of our holiday preparations with a cherished tradition. As the afternoon unfolded, participants gathered for the main ceremony, donning chef’s caps, aprons, and gloves. The air was filled with the aromatic blend of premium ingredients, including sultanas, candied ginger, macerated dates, crystallised fruit, and hand-picked nuts. These select ingredients were lovingly mixed with fine spirits, initiating the months-long maturation process essential for crafting the hotel’s signature Christmas treats.

The atmosphere was complemented by holiday music, while the seaside setting provided a distinctive backdrop for this cherished tradition. Families and friends joined together, revelling in the joy of this pre-Christmas ritual.
