Refined Expansion: NH Collection Opens 2nd Sicily Hotel in Palermo
NH Collection Hotels & Resorts has expanded its Italian footprint with the opening of NH Collection Palermo Palazzo Sitano, its second property in Sicily and second hotel launch in Italy for 2025. Located on Via Vittorio Emanuele in central Palermo, the hotel is set in a restored Baroque-era palazzo surrounded by historic landmarks, local markets, and cultural institutions.
Following the recent debut of NH Collection Alagna Mirtillo Rosso in the Pennine Alps, this new addition brings Minor Hotels’ total properties in Sicily to six. Palermo, a city shaped by centuries of Phoenician, Arab, Norman, and Baroque influence, offers an immersive setting for the new hotel.
Originally comprising three aristocratic residences built between 1712 and 1860, the building has been carefully restored to preserve key architectural features such as period windows, cast-iron balconies, painted ceilings, and arched common areas. The 86 guest rooms—including Superior, Premium, Junior Suites, and Suites—blend historical character with modern comfort. Many rooms offer views of the old town, and select Junior Suites feature restored ceiling frescoes.

The hotel’s restaurant, housed within a glass-enclosed patio inspired by the nearby San Francesco Convent, serves Sicilian cuisine with global influences using regional ingredients. The street-facing bar on Via Bottai invites both guests and locals to enjoy a relaxed, inviting space.

For events, the property offers a flexible meeting room for up to 56 people, an interior patio, and additional breakout spaces suitable for networking and private gatherings. Wellness amenities include a sauna, steam room, and a fully equipped fitness centre with modern cardio equipment.
Positioned near cultural landmarks such as Piazza Marina, Vucciria Market, Teatro Massimo, and the Cathedral of Palermo, NH Collection Palermo Palazzo Sitano connects visitors to the city’s layered history, architecture, and vibrant daily life.
