Minor Hotels Signs Anantara Perth Hotel, Marking Brand Debut in Australia

Minor Hotels has announced the signing of Anantara Perth Hotel, introducing its Anantara Hotels & Resorts brand to Australia for the first time. The project represents a strategic expansion for the group, bringing the Thai-inspired hospitality brand to Perth.

Scheduled to open in 2032, Anantara Perth will form part of the AUD $3.8 billion Burswood Point development on the Swan River waterfront. The hotel is being developed by Golden Sedayu, a partnership between Perth-based Golden Group and Indonesia’s Agung Sedayu.

The property will feature 150 guest rooms and suites, two restaurants, a swimming pool, a fitness centre and an Anantara Spa. The hotel will also include wellness facilities aligned with the brand’s destination-led approach.

Anantara Perth will join a portfolio of more than 50 Anantara properties globally. In Australia, it will expand Minor Hotels’ existing presence of more than 60 properties operating under the Oaks Hotels, Resorts & Suites and Avani Hotels & Resorts brands.

Dillip Rajakarier, Group CEO of Minor International, parent company of Minor Hotels, said the signing reflects the company’s plans to broaden its brand footprint in Australia and respond to Perth’s ongoing urban and tourism development.

Andrew Sugiaputra, Managing Director of Golden Sedayu, noted that the partnership aims to deliver a hotel that contributes to Perth’s evolving hospitality landscape.

Located close to Perth’s central business district and within driving distance of domestic and international airports, the hotel is expected to contribute to the mixed-use Burswood Point precinct, which includes residential and entertainment components. The project will incorporate contemporary architectural elements and sustainable design practices in line with the group’s environmental commitments.

Perth continues to position itself as a gateway to Western Australia, offering access to beaches, parklands, wineries, wildlife experiences and cultural districts, supporting demand from both domestic and international travellers.
