Marriott Signs Agreement to Introduce St. Regis Resort at Kapalua Bay, Hawai‘i
Marriott International has announced an agreement with Kemmons Wilson Hospitality Partners (KWHP) to bring the St. Regis Hotels & Resorts brand to The Resort at Kapalua Bay on Maui’s northwest coast in Hawai‘i.
Under the agreement, Marriott has taken over management of the property as it begins a transition process. The resort will continue operating while undergoing renovation, after which it is expected to join the St. Regis portfolio in 2027.
Located within the Kapalua Resort community, the oceanfront property spans approximately 25 acres and includes 146 multi-bedroom ocean-view residences, offering a residential-style stay with hotel services.

Dana Jacobsohn, Chief Development Officer, Global Mixed Use and Luxury for North America at Marriott International, said the agreement reflects the company’s continued expansion of its luxury resort portfolio.

Webb Wilson, Chief Investment Officer at KWHP, noted that the partnership marks the next stage in the resort’s development, with a focus on enhancing service and guest experiences.

Jonathon Vopinek, CEO and President of White Label Asset Management, which is supporting the repositioning of the resort, said the project represents an important step in the property’s evolution as it prepares to join the St. Regis brand.
Resort Facilities and Amenities
The Resort at Kapalua Bay offers residential-style accommodations ranging from about 1,774 square feet to more than 4,050 square feet. The property overlooks tropical gardens and the Pacific Ocean and provides direct access to Kapalua Bay Beach.
Facilities at the resort include access to nearby golf courses and tennis courts, a 40,000-square-foot spa with 19 treatment rooms and wellness facilities overlooking the ocean, and indoor and outdoor meeting and event spaces. The property also features several outdoor swimming pools, including a multi-tiered lagoon-style pool.
With this agreement, Marriott continues to expand its presence in Hawai‘i. The company currently operates around 30 properties across the islands, with six additional hotels under development.
