Marriott International Signs Nine Hotel Deals in Greece
Expansion plans include new brands and projects across key destinations
Marriott International has announced nine hotel signings in Greece, representing close to 1,000 rooms and marking the planned entry of Residence Inn by Marriott and Le Méridien into the market.
The company currently operates 47 properties in Greece, with more than 6,000 rooms across 10 brands in 12 locations. The new agreements reflect continued development activity across the country’s hospitality sector.
New openings planned across Athens, Crete and island destinations
Among the projects is the signing of Residence Inn by Marriott Athens, a 57-room property expected to open in 2027, aimed at meeting demand for extended-stay accommodation in the city.
Le Méridien is also set to enter the market with Le Méridien Sissi Crete, a 229-room hotel scheduled to open in 2027, located along the Cretan coast.
Further developments in Crete include the planned Milatos Marriott Resort Crete, a 314-room property expected to open in 2028, and The Tenant, Heraklion Crete, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel, which is scheduled to open in 2026 with 40 rooms.
In Paros, Orosea, Paros, Autograph Collection is expected to open in 2026, adding another property to the brand’s portfolio of independent hotels.
Marriott International has also signed Hymnos, a Luxury Collection Resort & Spa in Zakynthos. The 94-room property is expected to open in 2026 and will be located on Bouka Beach.
Additional developments include Tella Thera and Stamna Sifnos, both part of Design Hotels, which opened in 2025, as well as Eréma in Milos, expected to open later this year.
Portfolio expansion across segments in Greece

Marriott International’s presence in Greece spans multiple segments, including luxury, premium and select-service brands. The portfolio includes brands such as The Luxury Collection, W Hotels, JW Marriott, Marriott Hotels, Sheraton, Westin, Tribute Portfolio, Autograph Collection, Design Hotels and Moxy Hotels.
The latest signings form part of the company’s broader expansion plans in Greece, covering island, coastal and urban locations.
