Lufthansa Introduces Special Anniversary Fleet for 2026
In 2026, Lufthansa will mark 100 years since the establishment of the first Lufthansa in 1926. To commemorate the milestone, the airline is preparing an “anniversary fleet” featuring a dedicated design that reflects both heritage and modern identity.
Several key aircraft types in the Lufthansa fleet will receive a special livery inspired by the 100-year theme. The blue fuselage will feature a white crane with wings that blend into the aircraft’s structure. A “100” will appear on the left side of the fuselage, while the right side will display the years “1926 / 2026.” The number will also be visible on the underside of the aircraft.
The Boeing 787-9 “Berlin,” registered D-ABPU and scheduled to arrive in Frankfurt in December, will lead the anniversary fleet. Additional aircraft to be repainted include an Airbus A380, an Airbus A350-1000, an Airbus A350-900, an Airbus A320, and a Boeing 747-8.
The aircraft will receive the new design in stages, with the full anniversary fleet expected to be completed by fall 2026.
