Lufthansa Stopover Option Allows Flexible Stays in Munich

The stopover option is available directly through the booking process on the airline’s website and applies across all travel classes. Passengers can choose to include a stay in Munich on either the outbound or return leg, with durations ranging from 24 hours to seven days. Depending on the route combination, an additional fare may apply.

Travellers can also add hotel stays, car rentals, and local experiences in Munich through Lufthansa’s partner network. These services can be booked after completing the flight reservation, allowing passengers to further tailor their travel plans.

According to Heiko Reitz, Member of the Lufthansa Airlines Board and Hub Manager Munich, the programme is designed to give passengers more flexibility in structuring their journeys while incorporating time in the Bavarian capital.

Munich is the first city to be included in this programme, with availability currently limited to flights connecting Singapore and the United States. The airline has indicated that the stopover offering will be expanded to additional routes and regions over time, with plans to introduce similar options across other hubs within the Lufthansa Group network.
