Joy Island Maldives Introduces Seaplane Transfer Service

Joy Island Maldives has introduced a new seaplane transfer service, offering guests a direct aerial route to the resort. Operated by Trans Maldivian Airways (TMA), the service offers a 10-minute flight connecting Joy Island with Velana International Airport in Malé.

The seaplane service operates during daylight hours. Guests arriving in Malé after 15:30 hrs are advised to use the resort’s speedboat transfer option for a convenient arrival. Departures from Joy Island to Velana International Airport are available between 06:00 and 16:00, aligning with international flights departing after 09:00. Guests with earlier departures are recommended to consider the speedboat transfer to ensure timely connections.

Both Joy Island and TMA note that flight schedules may be affected by weather or operational considerations. In such cases, responsibility for missed international connections remains with the guest. Seaplane fare adjustments may occur in line with airline fuel surcharge changes.

The introduction of the seaplane transfer provides an additional travel option for guests, supporting the resort’s ongoing efforts to enhance accessibility and the overall guest experience.
