ITA Airways Launches New Digital Platform with Lufthansa Group Integration

Digital platform rollout aligns ITA Airways with Lufthansa Group systems

ITA Airways has introduced a redesigned digital platform, with its app and website rebuilt to offer updated features and improved functionality for passengers.

The new digital channels reflect the airline’s brand identity, including its logo, colour scheme and content, while operating on the same technology used by Lufthansa Group carriers such as Lufthansa, SWISS, Austrian Airlines and Brussels Airlines.

This transition is part of the broader collaboration between ITA Airways and the Lufthansa Group, aimed at creating a more consistent customer experience across the group’s network of airlines.

Passengers can now combine ITA Airways flights with those of other Lufthansa Group hub carriers within a single booking. Existing bookings can also be accessed through the updated app and website.

Further updates are planned for the platform. Travel ID and Miles & More accounts are expected to be integrated, alongside features such as direct login, automated email and push notifications, and a standardised check-in process aligned with other group airlines.

The updated app and website are designed to support travellers throughout their journey, covering flight search, booking, payment, additional services and post-travel information. The platforms are currently available in nine languages.

Development of the new digital offering was carried out over the past year by Lufthansa Group’s Digital Hangar division. The focus has been on creating a consistent interface across digital touchpoints, with streamlined navigation, integrated services and access to relevant travel information.

According to Dieter Vranckx, the shared platform is intended to improve how customers interact with ITA Airways’ digital channels, which already see significant daily usage.
