Fu Lin Introduces Refreshed “Four Happiness” Menu and Chef Table Collaboration
Fu Lin, the Chinese restaurant brand under IHG Hotels & Resorts, has introduced its refreshed “Four Happiness” menu. Staying aligned with its philosophy of “Etiquette Wealth & Moderate Philosophy,” Fu Lin presents Chinese banqueting in a form adapted to current dining preferences, guided by principles of seasonal eating and balanced nutrition.
The brand has once again collaborated with F&B critic and writer Mr. Dong Keping to launch “Fu Lin’s Dong Keping Chef Table” at Crowne Plaza Jinan Runhua. This collaboration highlights Fu Lin’s culinary approach from a professional perspective and emphasizes the use of local ingredients and regional flavours. Led by local chefs and seasonal produce, the updated menu refines both dish structure and the overall banquet experience, reinforcing Fu Lin’s cultural expression and supporting IHG’s culinary strategy in Greater China.
A New Interpretation of the “Four Happiness” Menu
Since its debut in 2023, Fu Lin has followed the principles of seasonal eating and a moderate diet to build a Chinese dining experience centred on local produce, regional culture, and etiquette. The refreshed “Four Happiness” focuses on two directions: strengthening localization in menu development and shaping banquet experiences through scenario-based narratives.
Culinary Direction
Fu Lin moves away from standardized hotel Chinese dining to form a localized system with a more apparent regional identity. The renewed menu incorporates seasonal and locally sourced ingredients—such as Zhangqiu scallions, Laiwu black pork, and Taishan red-scaled fish from Jinan; Jingchu rice wine, Honghu lotus root, and Qingjiang catfish from Wuhan; and Laoshan spring water, Jimo rice wine, and local seafood from Qingdao. These elements create dining experiences connected to each destination.
Experiential Direction
The banquet experience shifts from standalone dishes to themed, scenario-based menus designed around shared occasions. The “Four Happiness” aligns dish combinations with four types of gatherings: family reunions, business dining, celebrations, and festive events. Each banquet is structured around a central theme and symbolic pairings, offering a sense of warmth, emotion, and ceremony that reflects Fu Lin’s brand philosophy.
Cultural Heritage Interpreted Through Taste

As part of the refresh, Fu Lin collaborated again with Mr. Dong Keping to present the “Fu Lin’s Dong Keping Chef Table” at Crowne Plaza Jinan Runhua. Chef teams from Crowne Plaza Jinan Runhua, Crowne Plaza Wuhan Tianhe Airport, Crowne Plaza Qingdao Jinshui, and Crowne Plaza Zhongshan Torch High-tech Zone participated in the Four Happiness Refresh Workshop to exchange insights and showcase updated dishes.
The dinner highlighted Shandong’s culinary heritage through both its flavours and presentation. The menu featured a selection of cold and hot dishes, including king crab with Jiaozhou cabbage served tableside, along with Fu Lin’s Four Happiness signatures: Fu Lin Braised Abalone, sweet-and-sour red-scaled fish with Yangxin pear vinegar, crispy roasted pigeon, and charcoal-grilled Laiwu black pork. The meal concluded with pastries, steamed items symbolizing prosperity, and a traditional gingko dessert.
Through this event, taste served as a medium for cultural interpretation, bringing together regional ingredients, culinary techniques, and storytelling. Each dish reflects Fu Lin’s focus on locality, cultural resonance, and ceremonial dining, expressing its guiding philosophy of “Etiquette Wealth & Moderate Philosophy.”

As part of IHG Hotels & Resorts’ localized F&B portfolio, the refreshed Four Happiness menu underscores the Group’s approach to culinary research, regional engagement, and cultural integration. Combining local flavours with themed banquet formats, the new menu responds to evolving interest in Chinese dining and explores the artistic role of banquet experiences.
Fu Lin currently operates six restaurants in Greater China. Supported by IHG’s global network and local operational capabilities, the brand plans to expand its presence to additional destinations while contributing to IHG’s diversified culinary development.
