IHG Hotels & Resorts Partners with Al Ashraaf to Open Holiday Inn Cairo Al Obour

IHG Hotels & Resorts has signed a management agreement with Al Ashraaf Developments to open Holiday Inn Cairo Al Obour. The 170-room hotel will be located in Al Obour City, a growing area northeast of Cairo with convenient access to Cairo International Airport and major residential, commercial, and industrial zones.

Positioned along the Cairo-Ismailia Desert Road, the location provides strong transport links, catering to both business and leisure travellers. The new hotel will feature Holiday Inn’s Open Lobby concept, designed to create a flexible space for guests to work, dine, and relax.

Eng. Ahmed Amin Masoud, CEO of Al Ashraaf Group, said: “Partnering with IHG to bring Holiday Inn to Al Obour City supports our goal of developing projects that enhance the city’s appeal as a connected and convenient urban destination.”

Haitham Mattar, Managing Director, India, Middle East & Africa, IHG Hotels & Resorts, said: “Egypt remains an important market for IHG, and our partnership with Al Ashraaf reflects our focus on expanding our presence to meet growing demand for quality accommodation. Holiday Inn Cairo Al Obour will serve both business and leisure travellers visiting the city.”

The hotel will offer 170 guest rooms, including 11 suites, along with four dining options, five meeting rooms, and retail spaces.

IHG currently operates eight hotels across Egypt under the InterContinental, Crowne Plaza, Holiday Inn, and Staybridge Suites brands, with 22 more properties planned over the next few years.
