IHG Hotels & Resorts Signs voco Lucknow, Set to Open in 2029

IHG Hotels & Resorts has signed a management agreement with Rajdeep Infra & Sales Pvt Ltd to develop voco Lucknow, marking the introduction of IHG’s premium brand to the capital city of Uttar Pradesh. The hotel is scheduled to open in Q3 2029 and supports IHG’s expansion strategy across key urban markets in India.

The hotel will be located in Ashiyana, a well-connected area of Lucknow, with convenient access to major city centres and close proximity to Chaudhary Charan Singh International Airport. Lucknow continues to attract domestic and international travellers due to its role as an administrative, educational, business, and cultural hub.

The voco brand focuses on offering a premium stay experience that blends the individuality of independent hotels with the consistency of an international brand. Its core brand pillars—Come on in, Me time, and voco life—emphasise comfort, flexibility, and thoughtful design.

Commenting on the signing, Sudeep Jain, Managing Director, South West Asia, IHG Hotels & Resorts, said the agreement reflects IHG’s focus on expanding its premium portfolio in India’s state capitals and noted Lucknow’s growing relevance as a multi-sector destination.

Aman Singh Chauhan, Director, Rajdeep Infra & Sales Pvt Ltd, stated that the partnership aligns with the company’s objective of developing hospitality assets in prime locations, supported by IHG’s operational expertise and global systems.

The 135-key voco Lucknow is currently under construction and will become IHG’s third hotel in the city, joining the existing Holiday Inn and Crowne Plaza properties.

Across India, IHG currently operates 51 hotels across six brands: Six Senses, InterContinental Hotels & Resorts, Crowne Plaza, voco Hotels, Holiday Inn Resort, and Holiday Inn Express. The group has a pipeline of 80 hotels under development, reflecting its continued focus on growth in the Indian market.
