IHG Extends Partnership with Rugby Australia Until 2028
IHG Hotels & Resorts Renews Australian Rugby Partnership for Three More Years
IHG Hotels & Resorts has renewed its partnership with Rugby Australia, extending a relationship that has spanned 24 years. The new agreement will continue through 2028, reinforcing IHG’s long-standing support for Australian rugby.
Over the years, IHG has welcomed players, coaching staff and Rugby Australia personnel across its hotel network while providing accommodation options for fans travelling to matches throughout Australia and New Zealand.
The renewed partnership comes as Australia prepares to host several major international rugby events, highlighting the role of hospitality in supporting sports tourism, visitor travel and local economies.
Matt Tripolone, Managing Director, Australasia & Pacific, IHG Hotels & Resorts, said the partnership has been an important part of IHG’s journey for more than two decades. He added that the renewal reflects the shared values between the two organisations and creates new opportunities to support Rugby Australia, its teams and travelling supporters.
Phil Waugh, Chief Executive Officer of Rugby Australia, said IHG has been one of the organisation’s longest-standing partners, with the collaboration built on a shared commitment and objectives. He noted that the partnership has supported both the teams and fans across Australia and New Zealand.
Under the renewed agreement, IHG will continue supporting Rugby Australia through its hotel network and IHG One Rewards programme, offering members access to match-day experiences, accommodation packages and exclusive rugby-related opportunities.
The extension follows IHG’s involvement in last year’s British & Irish Lions Tour, during which the hotel group welcomed fans across its properties throughout Australia.
IHG Hotels & Resorts continues to operate hotels across major cities, regional destinations and leisure markets in Australia and New Zealand, supporting business travel, tourism and major sporting events.
