AirAsia Launches Enhanced Platinum Mastercard
Thai AirAsia Introduces New Platinum Mastercard with Bangkok Bank
Thai AirAsia, AirAsia rewards and Bangkok Bank have introduced the updated Bangkok Bank AirAsia Platinum Mastercard Credit Card, expanding their long-standing partnership with new travel, loyalty and lifestyle benefits for cardholders.
Available from 1 August 2026, the refreshed credit card allows customers to earn AirAsia points through everyday spending, redeem points for flights and travel services, and access a range of travel-related benefits. The card also features a new design made from recycled PVC (rPVC) as part of efforts to reduce environmental impact.
Tansita Akrarittipirom, Head of Commercial at Thai AirAsia, said the updated card strengthens Thai AirAsia’s loyalty programme by connecting everyday spending with travel rewards. She added that cardholders will receive benefits such as priority check-in, priority boarding, seat selection, baggage allowance and inflight offers, alongside cashback and points on daily purchases.
Shannon Liew, Head of Loyalty at AirAsia rewards, said the programme has evolved beyond travel into a broader lifestyle rewards platform. She noted that the new card enables members to convert everyday spending into travel rewards while providing automatic AirAsia Platinum membership during the first year and access to future loyalty benefits.
Shoke Na Ranong, Executive Vice President of Bangkok Bank, said the updated card has been developed to meet changing consumer preferences by combining travel rewards, convenience and sustainable design. He added that the partnership reflects the bank’s continued focus on customer needs and secure financial products.
Cardholders will earn one AirAsia point for every THB 20 spent, with opportunities to earn additional points when booking AirAsia flights. The card also offers 0% instalment payments for three months on eligible AirAsia purchases or a 0.74% interest rate for instalments of up to ten months on qualifying transactions.
Travel benefits include priority check-in, priority boarding, priority baggage handling and priority booking, together with welcome vouchers for checked baggage, seat selection and onboard refreshments.
Additional benefits include overseas spending rewards, cashback offers, discounts at participating fuel stations, restaurants, hospitals and clinics, as well as the ability to redeem AirAsia points for flights, hotels, SNAP holiday packages and e-vouchers through the AirAsia rewards platform.
Applications for the updated Bangkok Bank AirAsia Platinum Mastercard Credit Card will open on 1 August 2026, with existing cardholders also able to upgrade to the new card.
