Hyatt Reopens Renovated Secrets Playa Mujeres Golf & Spa Resort in Mexico
Hyatt Hotels Corporation has announced the reopening of Secrets Playa Mujeres Golf & Spa Resort following a comprehensive renovation. The adults-only, all-inclusive resort reflects Hyatt’s continued focus on refreshing established destinations within the Secrets Resorts & Spas portfolio.
Located within the private gated community of Playa Mujeres, north of Cancun, the resort is approximately 35 minutes from Cancun International Airport and sits alongside a Greg Norman–designed golf course. The AAA Four Diamond, all-suite property features white-sand beaches and ocean views. Guests also have access to the neighbouring Dreams Playa Mujeres Golf & Spa Resort, which offers additional dining and leisure options.

Commenting on the reopening, Mauricio Martinez, General Manager of Secrets Playa Mujeres Golf & Spa Resort, said the renovation was designed to enhance the guest experience while maintaining the brand’s focus on romance, relaxation, and lifestyle-led stays, complemented by access to golf and coastal surroundings.
Updated accommodations and Preferred Club
All guest rooms have been redesigned with a contemporary coastal theme, incorporating natural materials, soft furnishings, and open layouts intended to support comfort and relaxation. Neutral colour palettes and ocean-inspired design elements aim to create a calm and functional living space.
The Preferred Club now includes a newly built two-storey structure with a private check-in lounge on the ground level and an ocean-view restaurant on the upper level. A newly developed private beach club provides an additional space for guests seeking a quieter beachfront setting.
Redesigned public areas and spa updates

Several public spaces have been reconfigured to improve flow and accessibility, including relocating the Rendezvous lobby bar to the former main lobby and repositioning the check-in area closer to guest rooms. Meeting and event spaces have also been updated. Enhancements to the Secrets Spa are scheduled to open in mid-February, expanding wellness facilities for guests.
Dining and entertainment refresh

Dining and nightlife venues across the resort have been updated, including refreshed interiors at Desires Night Club and Coco Café, while Portofino continues to serve Italian cuisine. Bordeaux is set to reopen in mid-February with a new Amazon-inspired concept, introducing an immersive dining environment.
The reopening marks the next phase for Secrets Playa Mujeres Golf & Spa Resort, aligning refreshed facilities with Hyatt’s broader strategy of maintaining consistency and relevance across its resort portfolio.
