Accor's Bold Move to Stop Chick Cruelty
As part of its ongoing commitment to sustainable, ethical, and animal welfare practices, Accor has announced its intention to eliminate the cruel culling of male chicks in the poultry industry. The Group is a pioneer in the hotel sector, actively embracing this cause and collaborating with authorities and stakeholders to promote the development and implementation of technologies that can effectively end the culling of male chicks nationwide. This measure will be implemented as soon as commercially available and sustainable technology is developed that allows for the identification of the chick's sex in the early days of embryo development. Accor's commitment extends to its entire network of approved suppliers, who must adhere to ethical and animal welfare standards.
