A government spokesperson stated that the state’s transport infrastructure will also be further improved.

Five Times the Growth for UP

The government has been working on improving its transportation sector in the last few years, and various visible results of the same have been witnessed, leading to a footfall of more than 48 crore in Uttar Pradesh last year. Now the government wants to increase the number by five times, targeting a Gross Value Added (GVA) of ₹70,000 crore by 2028. Religious tourism is one of Uttar Pradesh’s main attractions, with various spiritual places like Kashi, Ayodhya, Mathura, Chitrakoot, Prayagraj, Naimisharanya, Gorakhpur, etc. These places alone attract millions of visitors daily. To further attract more guests, the government is enhancing the facilities available at major tourist cities in the state with better hotels, guest houses, homestays, transportation, etc.
