Recent research from Experience Kissimmee emphasizes the increasing connection between Indian travelers and Central Florida. The study details the demographics of these travellers, their planning behaviours, activity preferences, and spending patterns in the Orlando-Kissimmee-Sanford area.
The data indicates that in 2024, the average Indian visitor was between 35 and 39 years old. Most travellers prefer to travel solo (70%), while 18.6% travel with family and friends. Families with young children make up 32% of this market. On average, travelers plan their trips 89 days in advance and typically book their flights approximately 41 days before departure.
Sightseeing (93%), shopping (82%), and visiting theme parks (56%) are the most common activities. Additionally, about 23% of travellers include Miami in their Florida itinerary.
Digital platforms play a strong role in travel inspiration. YouTube (95%), Instagram (92%), and Facebook (89%) are among the most used platforms, with many travelers influenced by posts shared by people they know.

Indian visitors stay an average of 31 nights, spending about $4,339 per trip and $5,838 per travel party. Accommodation accounts for the largest share of spending (66.9%), followed by food and beverages (12.5%) and recreation (1.6%).
Accommodation preferences include:
85% staying in hotels or motels for around six nights
8% choosing vacation homes for approximately nine nights

60% rent a car during their visit, while 28% take domestic flights within the U.S.

Florida ranks as the third-most considered U.S. state among Indian travelers, with peak interest in January and May
The reported average household income among travelers is $49,387, with 52% earning more than $60,000 annually.

The study reveals that Indian travellers seek experiences that combine recreation, comfort, and quality time with family, aligning with what the Kissimmee region offers.
