Czech Ministry Signs Contract for 11 Airbus H145 Helicopters

Airbus H145 Helicopters to Support Czech Police and Emergency Operations
The Czech Ministry of Interior has signed a contract with Airbus Helicopters for the delivery of 11 five-bladed H145 helicopters, which will be operated by the Czech Police Aviation Service for law enforcement, search and rescue, and emergency medical missions.
The agreement also includes training and logistics support to help integrate the helicopters into the country’s public safety operations.
Thomas Hein, Head of Europe Region at Airbus Helicopters, said the agreement reflects the long-standing relationship between Airbus and the Czech Republic. He noted that the Czech police already operate the H135, making the transition to the H145 a practical next step given the similarities between the two aircraft.
He added that the H145 is used by several law enforcement and public service operators across Europe, including police and border guard units in Germany, France, and Lithuania.

Airbus and the Czech Republic have worked together for more than 25 years, with the company sourcing over €200 million worth of goods annually from Czech suppliers for its commercial aircraft programmes.
The Czech Police Aviation Service currently operates nine helicopters from the H135 family. The incoming H145 fleet is expected to provide greater operational range and lifting capability while also supporting maintenance efficiency through digital systems.
More than 1,800 helicopters from the H145 family are currently in service worldwide, with the fleet recording over 8.5 million flight hours. The aircraft is powered by two Safran Arriel 2E engines and features full-authority digital engine control (FADEC) and the Helionix digital avionics suite. It also includes a four-axis autopilot system designed to support pilot workload management and operational safety.
The H145 is widely used for public service, emergency response, and law enforcement operations across different regions.
