Princess Cruises and Singapore Tourism Board Strengthen Asia Cruise Growth Plans
Singapore Tourism Board and Princess Cruises have announced a three-year partnership aimed at expanding cruise operations in Singapore between 2027 and 2030.
The agreement is expected to strengthen Singapore’s position as a major cruise hub in the Asia-Pacific region while supporting growth in tourism and maritime activity.
According to the announcement, the partnership is projected to attract more than 150,000 cruise passengers during the deployment period.

Three Princess Cruises Ships to Operate from Singapore
As part of the agreement, Princess Cruises will deploy three ships to Singapore:
- Diamond Princess
- Sapphire Princess
- Grand Princess
The number of sailings from Singapore is expected to double by 2030.
The cruise operations will be supported through the Singapore Tourism Board’s Cruise Development Fund.
Longer Cruise Itineraries Planned
Princess Cruises will offer itineraries ranging from 10 to 28 days.
The routes will include round-trip sailings from Singapore to destinations across Southeast Asia including Vietnam, Malaysia and Thailand.
The programme will also include longer voyages between Singapore and Japan.
Cruise passengers will have opportunities to join shore excursions at destinations across the region including Langkawi, Hoi An and Kaohsiung.
Singapore Positioned as Regional Cruise Hub
The partnership reflects increasing cruise demand across the Asia-Pacific market driven by rising travel demand and interest in longer travel experiences.
Officials stated that Singapore’s strong international air connectivity and cruise infrastructure continue to support its role as a regional cruise homeport.
The deployment is also expected to support growth in the fly-cruise segment by attracting international passengers travelling to Singapore before joining cruises.
International Markets Expected to Drive Passenger Growth
Princess Cruises expects to attract travellers from markets including Australia, the United Kingdom and the United States.
Tourism officials also noted that Singapore’s tourism offerings create opportunities for travellers to extend their stays before or after cruises.
Tourism and Maritime Sectors Expected to Benefit
The partnership is expected to generate economic benefits across Singapore’s tourism, hospitality and maritime sectors over the next several years.
The expanded cruise deployment also supports wider efforts to strengthen Singapore’s position within the international cruise industry.
Ms Jean Ng, Assistant Chief Executive, Experience Development Group, Singapore Tourism Board, said: “This three-year partnership with Princess Cruises is testament to Singapore’s position as Asia’s premier cruise hub. Princess Cruises’ expanded deployment broadens our premium cruise experiences and supports our Tourism 2040 vision to drive quality tourism growth through a strong pipeline of differentiated products. With Asia Pacific emerging as a key growth region for cruising, Singapore is well-positioned to capture fly-cruise demand and connect the world to the best of Asia. We look forward to Princess Cruises bringing their exciting cruise itineraries to more travellers.”
Mr Matthew Rutherford, Vice President Asia Pacific, Princess Cruises, said: “Singapore is a cornerstone of our Asia Pacific strategy and an exceptional homeport from which to expand regional footprint. This multi-year deployment underscores our confidence in Singapore’s connectivity and strong cruise ecosystem. We’re seeing growing demand for longer, more immersive journeys, and this programme allows us to deliver richer itineraries across Southeast Asia and beyond while attracting more international guests to the region.”
