Ascott India Achieves GSTC Certification Across Its Portfolio
GSTC Certification Milestone for Ascott India Portfolio
Ascott India has completed GSTC certification across its entire operational portfolio, aligning its properties with the Global Sustainable Tourism Council’s standards for sustainable tourism practices.
The certification marks a step forward for the company’s sustainability efforts in India, where a limited number of hotels currently hold GSTC recognition. With this, all seven operational properties under Ascott India now meet the council’s criteria covering sustainable management, socio-economic impact, cultural preservation and environmental responsibility.
The milestone builds on earlier progress, including the certification of Somerset Greenways Chennai, which became the first Ascott property globally to receive GSTC certification. The latest development reflects continued work across the India portfolio to align operations with recognised sustainability benchmarks.
This initiative is part of Ascott’s broader CLI 2028 sustainability roadmap, which aims to expand GSTC certification across its managed and branded properties globally, where feasible. In India, the certification supports the group’s positioning among corporate clients and travellers seeking verified sustainability practices.
Ascott India’s portfolio includes Citadines OMR Chennai, Citadines Arpora Nagoa Goa, Oakwood Residences Kapil Hyderabad, Citadines Paras Square Gurugram, Oakwood Residence Naylor Road Pune and Oakwood Residence Whitefield Bangalore, all of which are now GSTC certified.

Mansur Ahmed, Cluster Sustainability Champion at Ascott India, said the milestone reflects the organisation’s focus on integrating sustainability into daily operations while continuing to deliver guest experiences and contribute to the destinations in which it operates.
