APPOINTMENT
Alexander Lorz Elected Chair of Fraport AG Supervisory Board

Alexander Lorz, Finance Minister of Hesse, has been elected as the new Chair of the Supervisory Board of Fraport AG at its constitutive meeting held on May 12.
He succeeds Michael Boddenberg, who stepped down from the Supervisory Board after six years of service, effective at the conclusion of the company’s Annual General Meeting (AGM). Earlier during the AGM, shareholders elected Lorz to the Supervisory Board.
Commenting on his appointment, Lorz highlighted the significance of Frankfurt Airport as a key pillar of Hessian infrastructure, a major employer, and an essential transport hub for the German economy.
He also noted the recent opening of Terminal 3 as a milestone that reinforces the airport’s global relevance. Beyond its domestic operations, Fraport manages 28 airports across four continents, positioning it among the leading airport operators worldwide.
Lorz expressed confidence in collaborating with the Supervisory Board, Executive Board, employees, and partners to continue strengthening Fraport’s position both in Germany and internationally.
He emphasised that maintaining a strong Frankfurt Airport is of national importance, underlining the need for competitive infrastructure, a stable operating environment, sustained investment, innovation, and forward-looking aviation policies to meet global competition.
