Air India and Uzbekistan Airways Launch Codeshare Agreement
New Partnership Enhances Connectivity Between India and Central Asia
Air India has entered into a codeshare partnership with Uzbekistan Airways, expanding travel options between India and Central Asia.
Effective from 20 March 2026, Air India has placed its ‘AI’ designator code on Uzbekistan Airways-operated flights across key routes, including connections between Delhi and Tashkent, Mumbai and Tashkent, as well as a seasonal service between Goa and Tashkent.
Expanded Access and Seamless Travel
The agreement allows passengers to book journeys on a single ticket, with baggage checked through to their final destination. Travellers departing from India can access Tashkent and connect onward across Air India’s wider domestic and international network.
In addition to the codeshare, the two airlines continue to maintain an interline arrangement, enabling onward connections from Tashkent to destinations such as Samarkand, Bukhara, Urgench and Fergana, among others.
Strengthening Regional Air Links

, said the partnership supports the airline’s network development while improving travel options for passengers. He noted that Tashkent continues to see demand across leisure, business and cultural travel segments.
Shukhrat Khudaykulov, Chairman of the Board of Uzbekistan Airways, described the agreement as part of broader efforts to expand international connectivity and strengthen cooperation between the two carriers.
Bookings Now Open
Codeshare flights under the agreement are available for booking through Air India’s official website, mobile app and authorised travel agents.
